As a Wedding Planner and having a passion for weddings from an early age, I always love to hear how my clients met each other in their earlier days.
Each love story is unique, fascinating to hear, and it gives me that ‘feel good’ factor when we have our first meet up in person. I really sense that true loving feeling from the couple when they speak openly about their story, and how much they are looking forward to celebrating with their nearest and dearest – be it a small intimate gathering, or on a more larger scale.
I have heard of many different ways how couples have met each other – from traditional dating, finding love online, having mutual connections through friends or work, to random encounters in everyday life – usually when we least expect it!
When Cupid’s arrow strikes, there is no better feeling when you both feel that special, loving and happy connection with someone.
St Valentine’s Day (the patron saint of lovers) is celebrated on 14th February. I fondly remember one of my past weddings on this day 2 years ago, and how the couple perfectly incorporated the traditional red theme into their day. I don’t think they will forget their future wedding anniversaries somehow!
I know of proposals having happened at this time of year (whether they were expected or not!) and the sheer joy and happiness in those special moments together. Sometimes a ring has been produced with that all important question – or something temporary is offered until the couple chooses a ring/s together – I believe both are very special and loving.
I’d love to know how you met your other half.
How did he/she propose?
For me, being part of a couple’s wedding day, is a true honour and gives me such pleasure doing what I love, and making my clients happy.
It is very true of the saying:
“choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life”.
